Aziz Yehia

Aziz Yehia is an educator, performer, and multi-instrumentalist – specializing in percussion and drum kit. While studying cultural anthropology at UC Berkeley, Aziz honed his human-centered and worldly musical approach through the process of ethnographic research, focusing on music education and community building in Rio de Janeiro. Aziz has continued to gather influences from global traditions through extended immersive experiences in Turkey, Egypt, and the diverse Bay Area.

Aziz currently lives in Los Angeles and performs in a variety of projects across styles that include jazz, rock, hip hop, pop, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Turkish, Balkan, Persian, Egyptian, Sudanese, and free/meditative/ambient. Aziz also teaches music in elementary and middle school classrooms, ranging from mixed percussion to a self-designed Silk Road class that takes students on a journey from China to Spain – instilling the cultural curiosity and respect that builds cooperative citizens within LA’s multicultural social fabric.

In addition, Aziz is pursuing a Masters in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, deepening his potential to serve in the intersection of health and music.
